The Need for Waste Management

Despite efforts to recycle, the quantity of municipal waste requiring disposal continues to increase and, with up to 90% of material still being landfilled, it is now widely accepted that this situation cannot continue.

With legislation now requiring greater levels of recycling and resource recovery, together with a dramatic reduction in the use of landfill, there is an immediate need to find solutions which provide acceptable and environmentally sustainable methods for secondary processing of household and commercial/industrial waste.
